Location, Transport and Parking
Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School is located in Ivanhoe, a leafy North Eastern suburb approximately 9km from Melbourne’s Central Business District. Ivanhoe Girls’ Performing Arts Centre building will be our hub for the conference, and is located on the corner of Noel Street and Upper Heidelberg Road. Upper Heidelberg Road is an active shopping and dining strip, with plenty of options for your morning coffee!
We strongly encourage participants, where possible, to make your way to the conference by public transport. IGGS is accessible by train, located directly opposite Ivanhoe Station (Hurstbridge Line). Several bus routes, in particular the 510, 548 and 549 also pass through the area.
We suggest that you download the PTV app to check public transport timetables & options. You can also visit Public Transport Vic online to learn about purchasing a myki ticket.
There is limited on-street car parking in the surrounding area and across the road at Ivanhoe’s public library.

Train
IGGS is a 5 minute walk from Ivanhoe Station, which is on the Hurstbridge train line.
This is about 25 minutes by train from Flinders St Station.
Bus
The below bus routes stop close to IGGS.
510 Essendon Station – Ivanhoe Station via Brunswick & Northcote & Thornbury
- Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School/Noel St stop, OR
- Ivanhoe Civic Centre/Upper Heidelberg Rd stop
548 Kew (Cotham Rd) – La Trobe Uni Bundoora
- Ivanhoe SC/Upper Heidelberg Rd stop
549 Ivanhoe – Northland via Oriel Rd
- Passes by the school but has less stop options.
Parking
There is 2-hour time limited on-street parking on Noel St and a clearway on Upper Heidelberg Rd. There may also be time limited parking at Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub on 275 Upper Heidelberg Rd.
As the conference is during the school holidays, all day parking will be available on Marshall St and other surrounding streets. Please be aware of any parking restrictions that may apply.
We cannot guarantee there will be parking available in the staff car park. This will be reserved for IGGS staff, trade & committee.

For those visiting Melbourne for the conference, below are some suggested accommodation options who are providing an attendee discount for conference visitors. Beyond these options, we suggest that accomodation options (AirBnBs, hotels, hostels etc) either in Ivanhoe, along the Hurstbridge line, or in Melbourne’s Central Business District will provide easiest Public Transport access to the venue each day.
