The Developing Brain in Song: Building Life Skills Through Music
- Thursday, 1 October
- 12:00 pm
This interactive workshop explores how intentionally selected songs, rhymes, and musical activities, guided by research-informed practice, can enrich learning beyond the music classroom, strengthen each child’s cognitive development and wellbeing, and foster connections across all areas of their learning.
By exploring evidence-based connections between music and key developmental areas—including executive function, wellbeing, and phonological awareness—this session positions the Kodály approach as a roadmap for building musical literacy while fostering broader cognitive and social skills. Participants will discover the why behind intentional music-making, empowering them to design purposeful learning experiences that enhance collaboration with colleagues, and showcases the value and impact of your practice—empowering both teachers and students to thrive.
